Vita

Wafa Ben Mahmoud holds a bachelor’s degree in public law (2017), a master’s degree in international law (2018) from Sorbonne University and a Master of International Economic Law (2019) from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University. She participated in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration (FIAMC) moot court (2019), volunteered as an arbitrator in the Geneva FIAMC Pre-Moot (2020) and was a part of the organising committee as a volunteer for the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation Competition (2020). During her studies, she completed an internship at a law firm specialised in immigration law and refugee law, an internship at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and another internship at Lalive, a Swiss international law firm. 

She joined the Max Planck Research Group ‘Legal Connectivities and Colonial Cultures in Africa’, which is headed up by Inge Van Hulle.  Her doctoral project focuses on the granting and evolution of concession contracts under the French and the British empires.
