The 23-minute documentary, directed by Nica Tedesco and Paulo Cruz Terra, explores the meanings of vegrancy in post-abolition Brazilian history. Through an intersectional lens of class, gender, race, and sexuality, the film examines who was labeled a "vagrant" and the possibilities of resistence against criminalization.
Engaging in dialoge with four female activists: Neusa Maria Pereira (Journalist, co-founder of the Movimiento Negro Unificado), Shirley Krenak (Indigenous activist of the Krenk people), Jovanna Baby (Founder of the organized transgender movement in Brazil), Nataraj Trinta (historiam, organizer of the Slut Walk in Rio de Janeiro)
