Curriculum Vitae

Julie Rocheton completed her undergraduate studies in law, legal history and legal culture at the Université de Montpellier, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and the Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) between 2011 and 2013. She holds a PhD in legal history (awarded in 2021) from the Universitat de València. Her doctoral dissertation examined the genesis of 19th-century American civil codes. She has held teaching positions as assistant professor for legal history, legal methodology and the history of French institutions at the universities of Grenoble, Reims and Versailles from 2013 to 2021 and was a Michigan Grotius Research Scholar Fellow at Michigan Law School from August 2014 to May 2015. From January to September 2021, Julie Rocheton was a guest researcher at the mpilhlt, and she joined the Institute as postdoctoral researcher in October of the same year.
