Main Focus
The research interests concern early modern and modern legal, political and constitutional history. The research activities focus on early modern ‘good order and police’ / police ordinances (Policeyordnungen), penal law and criminal justice as well as on governance and administration within the pre-modern state and on the Holy Roman Empire as a juridical-constitutional system. A secondary focus lies on the legal history of (particular cities and regions) in Hesse.
