Modelling Social and Legal Facts in the Context of the Semantic Data for Humanities and Social Sciences (SDHSS) Ontology Ecosystem

Join us for an enlightening discussion on the possible applications of knowledge graphs and linked open data (LOD) in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) research. While large language models and AI-based audio-visual production technologies are hot topics of many scholarly discussions, the transformative potential of knowledge graphs in redefining information analysis and sharing at scale cannot be overlooked.

Google's Knowledge Graph, a colossal "virtual encyclopaedia of facts," has burgeoned to an impressive "800 billion facts on 8 billion entities" as of March 2023 (Wikipedia). This prompts us to ponder: Can HSS researchers make effective use of similar semantic technologies to share their daily-produced information? Can they seamlessly integrate their data with the metadata of libraries, archives, and museums to construct an expansive graph of high-quality information about historical artefacts?
