Court Cases and the Writing of African History
Researchers of the project 'Global Legal History on the Ground' have published a bibliography on 'Court Cases and the Writing of African History'. The publication is available open access as part of the Institute’s mpilhlt Research Paper Series (No. 2022-13).
It is accompanied by a video series that aims to provide researchers in legal history with the basic tools for working with court cases. The videos were produced with the support of the American Society of Legal History and can be found on the project’s webpage and social media.
Both bibliography and videos aim to draw the attention of researchers to the potential that court cases offer in the writing of African history. They also provide basic information on how to work with this type of sources.
